Sony Ericsson Satio with a 12.1 MP camera!

thumbnail
This phone was presented as a concept in Mobile World Congress and we are glad it has turned in to a reality now. This device is offered unlocked and it is billed as an entertainment cell phone. The 12.1 megapixel camera is really powerful and we have never seen such advanced photo editing options on any other camera phone. The standard music player is also there for listening to music. In terms of design, this phone has a lot in common with other high end smartphones. We were stunned by the camera options but the picture quality was quite inconsistent. Also, another disappointing feature is that the gadget has a proprietary port for headphones and power adapter. We would have liked a standard 3.5 mm headphone jack for plugging in any standard headphones. This is an excellent multimedia phone but the high price tag of $649 is certainly a turn off. True, you get a lot of camera options but a digi-cam gives you all this for relatively low price. Hence, we won’t recommend purchasing this  [...]

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 – need a speedy 3G carrier

thumbnail
Most of the cell manufacturers are adopting Google Android as their mobile operating system. Now, Sony Ericsson has released its first Android smartphone – the Xperia X10. It features large, sharp and gorgeous display, excellent multimedia features, easy-to-use interface, and virtual keyboard. However, the onscreen keyboard does not work in all applications. The Timescape application is very useful, but has a complicated interface. The X10 provides good call quality and fast internal speed. On the contrary, Timescape updates do not complete successfully and data connection strength is variable. We hope that these issues are due to the carrier and other service provider may fix these issues. You can purchase the unlocked version of Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 for $700. You may have to use third party application for synchronizing Outlook calendar. If you can afford an expensive price tag for a fast and good looking smartphone and can get an U.S. 3G carrier to overcome above problem, then  [...]

Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 review – extensive price tag without any U.S. carrier backing

thumbnail
Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 is the first Sony phone to release with Windows Mobile 6.1. It is a luxury smartphone with solid construction and extensive price tag. We appreciate the Sony Ericsson to work perfectly on hardware to provide a wow factor to the Xperia X1, but it works like other Windows Mobile devices. It features slide-out QWERTY keyboard, optical joystick, various multimedia features and easy-to-use panel interface. There are standard seven panels and you can download more from Sony Ericsson download site. Its unlocked version costs $799.99 and available at Sony Style stores. We are disappointed that currently no U.S. carrier is supporting the Xperia X1. Its navigation array is a bit difficult to use and Sony need to focus on Web browsing. The Xperia X1 supports 850/1900/2100 UMTS/HSDPA bands, which means it fully operates with AT&T SIM in the United States. On the contrary, the X1 only works for calling and Web surfing at T-Mobile with EDGE because its  3G network runs on  [...]

thumbnail
Sony Ericsson Naite is an eco-friendly cell phone that is a part of GreenHeart series – a Sony initiative. The GreenHeart is a result of company’s commitment towards protecting the nature by making cell phones from recycled and unwanted materials. The Naite is made using recycled plastic and contains Energy Star V compatible charger. Unlike other eco-friendly phones, its container box is not made up of recycled cardboard. However, the box is small in size and uses less cardboard. The standby mode of the Naite consumes very less power. The Ericsson Naite offers bright and sharp display, easy menu navigation, FM radio, 2-megapixel camera, video recorder, video calling, photo/video editor, and Google Maps. There are two versions of the Ericsson Naite – unlocked and other for T-Mobile. The unlocked version of Sony Naite costs $150. This eco-friendly cell phone also suffers from some drawbacks. It does not have flash for camera and comprises of cramped keypad, non-standard charger and  [...]
